How to clean Video Tape Recorder Heads Posted by: CoolDudeClem
Video duration: 480 seconds In this video I so you how to do pretty much what the title says. My method, strange as it may seem DOES work, and is less damaging than using cotton swabs/cue tips. But you do have to take the top off your VCR to do this. Please note that this does not cover cleaning the audio/sync/erase heads, just the video heads on the head drum. How to copy files from one computer onto another Posted by: CoolDudeClem
Video duration: 573 seconds Simply by taking the hard drive out of one computer and putting it in another, you can copy your files from that hard drive onto the other one. Note, the hard drive you copy from must be set to "slave" before you put it in the other computer, and set to "master" when you put it back in the original computer if it's the main drive. Testing 2 mic preamps Posted by: CoolDudeClem
Video duration: 512 seconds I've decided to use a eletret condenser mic insert in one of my microphones instead of a dynamic insert. So I made 2 pre-amps for use with it. One the circuits is from the internet and the other is my own design. There both 2-stage, but my own one seems to be better, it has more gain. Video duration: 518 seconds Ok, this is how I do reverse speech on a cassette recorder, well actually its a stereo system where I've made a modification to the tape deck so it can play tapes backwards. I also did quite a lot of reverse speech at the end of this. Can anyone guess what I'm actually saying? Related: cassette, reverse, speech |

DC bias vs AC bias Posted by: CoolDudeClem
Video duration: 379 seconds A demonstration of how much better AC bias recordings sound than standard DC bias. A few other people have posted simular videos about this, but they've never been very clear. Stuff like background music, poor quality microphones, and low audio bit rates are not a good idea when showing this kind of thing. So here's my video, recorded with HIGH QUALITY sound.
